Trusted dust mite protection for home textiles
An approved ready to use water based product for the removal and protection against further growth of dust mites and fungal moulds. Applicable to all new and exisiting furnishings including those with stain resistant finishes. Typical usage areas include carpet, rugs, upholstery, beds, valances, curtains, fabric wall coverings, car, caravan and boat interiors, etc.
How it works
Millions of these household dust mites and their excrement are to be found in every home. Dust mite allergies together with bacteria and fungal moulds can be directly linked to over 50% of all asthmatic diseases. Other related allergies include eczema, rhinitis (hayfever), sinusitis, watery eyes, coughs etc.
Actigard is the safe highly durable and proven answer to a worldwide hygiene problem. Actigard treated textiles and carpets will eliminate the food chain that these dust mites thrive and procreate on. Without this source, dust mites, mould fungi and bacteria cannot develop.
Directions for use
With either an Ashbys Multi Spray PC1009 / Orion Sprayer or other sprayer using a T Jet 8002 for carpets / rugs and 8001 for fabrics.
Apply evenly at 40 psi making uniformly damp. 5 litres of product will cover approximately 40 square metres of typical grade 4 carpet and 60-80 square metres of fabric. A double application should apply to thick wool rugs. Before treating existing carpets and furnishings a thorough vacuuming and in most cases, a water extraction clean is reccomended.
Special attention should be given to compacted and flattened carpet areas. Residual detergent should be flushed out of carpets / upholstery and should have as much moisture extracted as possible before application.
An Ashbys Hurricane Pro Airmover or terry towels are reccomended for use on wet fabrics. Without owners consent Allergy Shield should not be used on carpets or fabrics prone to shrinkage, distortion or water marking (ie - jute, sisal, 100% viscose, silk etc).
