Application instructions

Scotchgard Carpet Protector is a liquid that is a ready-to-use protective treatment. It can be applied to most types of carpeting. It can be applied with equal success to new or freshly
cleaned carpet that is either damp or dry. Scotchgard Carpet Protector provides a protective barrier to resist soil and make spot-cleaning of forced-in stains easy with conventional techniques.

Warning

For use on colourfast carpet only. Always spray a small inconspicuous area of carpet, blot with white cloth and check for colour transfer before using. If colour transfer occurs, the carpet is not colourfast and the treatment should not be used.

Coverage

5 Ltr Scotchgard Carpet Protector will cover 30 to 50 square metres of carpet, dependent on pile weight.

Dilution directions

1. Damp - Freshly Cleaned Carpet - No Dilution Necessery
2. Dry Carpet - Add one litre of carpet protector to one litre of warm water and shake or mix thoroughly.
3. Use one litre of diluted carpet protector pre 3 - 5 sqm of carpet.

Instructions for use on new carpet

1. No cleaning is necessary unless the carpeted area shows visible soiling.
2. Vacuum carpet thoroughly.
3. Dilute Scotchgard Carpet Protector with warm water as indicated in the Dilution Directions.

Instructions for use soiled carpet

1. Vacuum carpet thoroughly.
2. Remove severe spots and stains.
3. Extraction clean carpet to remove soil.
4. Follow Method of application below.

Method of application

1. Use Tee Jet 80 04 spray tip. Spray pressure should not exceed 30 psi (do not aerosolise or atomise).
2. Measure area to be treated and dilute Scotchgard Carpet Protector if necessary.
3. Add diluted protector to solution tank of sprayer or mix directly in the tank.
4. Turn on the sprayer pump.
5. Hold the spray nozzle 12 inches from the carpet and spray using straight even overlapping strokes. Overlap half the spray pattern width on each stroke.
6. Continue spraying measured area until the sprayer is empty or until proper coverage is achieved.
7. Rinse out sprayer and spray wand with water when the job is finished.
8. If any protector is left over, it can be used later. Shake before using.
